William W. Wilson, M.D.

Dr. William Wilson joined Fort Wayne Cardiology in 1987 after completing his cardiology training at the University of Virginia. He specializes in the fields of nuclear cardiology, interventional cardiology, and hemostasis/thrombosis.

Career highlights

  • Member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the American Society of Angiology.
  • Past president of the local chapter of the American Heart Association.
  • Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.
  • Founder and director of the Parkview Anticoagulation Therapy Unit.
  • Co-author of multiple scientific papers. He continues active clinical research through the Parkview Research Center.

Education

  • Earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Indiana University.
  • Graduated Highest Distinction from the Indiana University School of Medicine.
  • Completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Indiana University Medical Center.
  • Completed a research fellowship at Krannert Institute of Cardiology.
  • Completed a clinical cardiology fellowship at the University of Virginia.
  • Board certification in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
